Free Grocery Giveaway & Drive Thru Prayer
Livermore Knights in partnership with the newly formed Community Care Ministry at St. Michael came out on Saturday to offer prayers and distribute free groceries to families in need.

The Knights and their families started the day early setting up tables and canopies in the distribution area. Most then stayed to help with the food distribution and drive thru prayer all the way through take down and clean up. In spite of the heat and the smoke, the event went smoothly and everyone involved had a good time.

We're not quite done yet! This will be an ongoing project. The next grocery distribution will be on September 5, 2020. All Knights and families are invited to join and help at this event. No need to sign up, Just show up at the scheduled times.

Here's a schedule of activities:

Thursday, September 3, 2pm-5pm at the Large Hall -- Grocery Packing
Friday, September 4, 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Large Hall - Grocery Packing
Saturday, September 5:
7:30am-9:00am - School Yard - Set Up
9:00am - 11:00am - School Yard - Grocery Distribution and Drive Thru Prayer
11:00am - 12:00pm - School yard/Large Hall - Take down and clean up

Taking advantage of the number of Knights who attended, PGK Anthony handed out awards from CY 2019-2020 that could not be distributed since we did not have our traditional Officer Installation and Awards Dinner.

Perspective
A prayer during this pandemic
May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.

May we who have no risk factors
Remember those most vulnerable.

May we who have the luxury of working from home
Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.

May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close
Remember those who have no options.

May we who have to cancel our trips
Remember those that have no place to go.

May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market
Remember those who have no margin at all.

May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
Remember those who have no home.

During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,
Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our family, friends and neighbors.
