Membership News
New Deacons
Congratulations to our seminarian brothers Candelario Jimenez and Jumin "Paul" Park who were ordained as Transitional Deacons yesterday.

Deacon Candelario was ordained at a ceremony presided by Bishop Michael C. Barber at the Good Shepherd Parish in Pittsburg.

Deacon Paul was ordained at a ceremony presided by Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordeleone at St. Pius Church in Redwood City.

Deacon Candelario will have a Thanksgiving Mass at St. Michael today, August 9, at 6pm.

Let us pray for our brothers as they take on these new roles as Deacons and as they move forward with their vocations.

Recruitment Incentives
Supreme and the CA State Council have launched several incentive programs for recruitment this year. A special one in honor of our founder Blessed Michael J. McGivney is being highlighted here.

Any member who recruits at least 5 new members this Columbian Year will receive a commemorative Blessed Michael J. McGivney medallion. This is in addition to the usual VIP and Shining Armor Awards.

Start recruiting today! Let the Grand Knight and Membership directors know if you have candidates that are ready to attend our exemplification ceremony.
Volunteer Opportunities at St. Michael
St. Michael Parish has launched the Community Care Ministry.

In a letter to the St. Michael parishioners, Fr. Carl says "Community Care will serve the basic needs of the people of Livermore in four areas: free fresh groceries, onsite prayer, financial assistance and counseling workshops.

As Knights, this is a wonderful opportunity for us to help our Pastor in this new ministry while also serving the needs of our community. All the planning work have already been taken care of. All we have to do is show up and help!

Perspective
A prayer during this pandemic
May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.

May we who have no risk factors
Remember those most vulnerable.

May we who have the luxury of working from home
Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.

May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close
Remember those who have no options.

May we who have to cancel our trips
Remember those that have no place to go.

May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market
Remember those who have no margin at all.

May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
Remember those who have no home.

During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,
Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our family, friends and neighbors.

Amen.
