When: Every Day in May
Where: St Michael Courtyard; 7:00 pm

In this turbulent time, the rosary is one of our strongest weapons for good.

Daily rosaries are in the courtyard at St Michael every evening in May at 7 p.m. We will lead a rosary on Thursdays.

Our seminarian and Brother Knight Paul Park is often the leader. Take the opportunity to spend time with him praying the rosary before he goes to St Patricks in a few short weeks!

Participate in as many of these as you can; bring the family. It will strengthen you and your family as we petition the Blessed Mother to pray for us to the Lord, our God. There is no sign up ... just need to bring your rosary and your family and pray with us.

Congratulations to Father Carl!
In case you did not hear, our co-chaplain and brother Knight Father Carl Arcosa celebrated 12 years of priesthood this weekend.

Congratulations Father Carl!!

The Livermore Knights were proud to present the March 2019 Mexican Martyr Award to recognize his excellent service as chaplain for the Livermore Knights. The award was given in honor of FATHER MATEO CORREA MAGALLANES, one of 25 martyrs canonized by St Pope John Paul II in 2000. Father Mateo Correa Magallanes, who was a member of Council 2140, was arrested and taken to Durango. While in prison, he was ordered by the commanding officer on Feb. 5, 1927, to hear the confessions of his fellow prisoners. Then the commander demanded to know what they had told him. Of course, Father Correa Magallanes wouldn’t violate the seal of confession, and so, the next day, he was taken to a local cemetery and executed by the soldiers.
Party for Father Rafael Hinojosa
Livermore Knights Celebrate Father Rafael's 10th Anniversary in Oakley
Livermore Knights were among 40+ parishioners that made a trip to Oakley on May 19th to help Father Rafael Hinojosa celebrate his 10th anniversary as a priest.

In addition to a special mass, there was a reception with a Mariachi band and food for the 400+ attendees, including three special cakes and a video presentation celebrating his 10-year journey as a priest. The Knights of Columbus from the district office presented a special sword to Father Rafael in recognition of his service. The night finished on the dance floor with attendees dancing to Father Rafael's favorite song - "Caballo Dorado".

Before moving to Oakley, Father Rafael served the St Michael community and was a very active brother Knight who was important in the formation of the Mesa Redonda.

Congratulations Father Rafael!!
Father Mark reassigned to CCOP
In case you have not heard ... we are sorry to report that our co-chaplain Father Mark Wiesner (2018 CA Chaplain of the Year) will be reassigned to CCOP beginning on July 1st. As we well know, St Augustine will benefit from his spiritual leadership.

We also have news on his replacement at St Charles. Father Kwame Assenyoh, coming from St Augustine in Pleasanton, will assume the position of Parochial Administrator.

I have spoken with WGK Ted Dudziak - GK for the Pleasanton council - about Father Kwame and he has nothing but overwhelming praise. Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements on Livermore Knights activities related to this transition...
Life-Saving Pancakes & Baby Bottle Campaign
WOW...

Thanks to the wonderful and humbling generosity of our parishioners, I am very happy to report that our pancake breakfast was extremely successful - far surpassing previous pancake breakfasts as we work to meet and exceed the goals of our Ultrasound Initiative campaign!

Additionally, Brother Nick Libby reports that we handed out over 450 bottles and a number of donations were already made to Knights and family-members handing out bottles. We will need help collecting the bottles on 6/1 and 6/2. Sign up above!

It was wonderful to hear the positive supporting comments for this effort from the parishes and we are anticipating amazing results that will end up saving the lives of so many children!

We will report all of the financials at the June 6th business meeting - you won't want to miss this one, so mark your calendar!

The 'Word' from our Sponsor

“Faith is to believe what you do not see. The reward of faith is to see what you believe.”
St. Augustine
Did you hear the one ...

The 98 year old Mother Superior from Ireland was dying. The nuns gathered around her bed trying to make her last journey comfortable. They gave her some warm milk to drink but she refused. Then one of the nuns took the glass back to the kitchen. Remembering a bottle of Irish whiskey received as a gift the previous Christmas, she opened and poured a generous amount into the warm milk. Back at Mother Superior's bed, she held the glass to her lips. Mother drank a little, then a little more and before they knew it, she had drunk the whole glass down to the last drop. "Mother," the nuns asked with earnest, "please give us some wisdom before you die."

She raised herself up in bed and with a pious look on her face said, "Don't sell that cow".
