BBQ Dinner Recap
Our first fundraiser of the year is in the books! Thanks to all brother knights who came out to help set up and distribute the dinners!

Our supporters were happy to see the Knights back in action. The pick up schedule was efficiently spread out allowing for plenty of time for brothers to hang out and catch up. More importantly, we were able to raise money to help our clergy.

Community Care Grocery Distribution
October has been a busy month for the Knights helping with the Community Care Ministry's free grocery distribution and drive-thru prayer. Instead of the usual distributions on the first and third Saturday of the month, the event was held on the first four Saturdays of October. Livermore Knights are heavily involved with each distribution and prayers. Shout out to PGK Dennis Lundbom and brother Daniel Montoya who are always present!

The ministry will resume its normal schedule in Novermber.

Prayers
For All Saints Day on November 1
We give you thanks, O God, for all the saints who ever worshiped you
Whether in brush arbors or cathedrals,
Weathered wooden churches or crumbling cement meeting houses
Where your name was lifted and adored.

We give you thanks, O God, for hands lifted in praise:
Manicured hands and hands stained with grease or soil,
Strong hands and those gnarled with age
Holy hands used as wave offerings across the land.

We thank you, God, for hardworking saints;
Whether hard-hatted or steel-booted,
Head ragged or aproned,
Blue-collared or three-piece-suited
They left their mark on the earth for you, for us, for our children to come.

Thank you, God, for the tremendous sacrifices made by those who have gone before us.
Bless the memories of your saints, God.
May we learn how to walk wisely from their examples of faith, dedication, worship, and love.

For All Souls Day on November 2
Merciful Father,

Hear our prayer and console us.
As we renew our faith in Your Son,
whom You raised from the dead,
strenghten our hope that all our departed brothers and sister
will share in His resurrection,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy SPirit
one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let your perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.

The 'Word' from our Sponsor

Saints are the simple, the humble who make room for God, who know how to weep for others and for their own errors, those who stay meek, who fight for justice, who are merciful toward all, who guard purity of heart, who always work for peace and remain in joy, not in hate, and, even when suffering, respond to evil with good.
