"Hard work and perseverance pay off. I learned that as a student at Everest, applied that in high school, and live it now in college."
Enjoying the experience of being able to run for a Division 1 cross-country team, Cassandra Hamiton (Class of 2016) is a sophomore majoring in data analytics and philosophy at the University of St. Thomas (MN) on an academic scholarship.
Last month, she worked hard to earn a spot on her college team to race against nationally-ranked cross country runners at the annual Joe Plaine Invitational held at the University of Notre Dame (pictured below). Over the summer, she completed two triathlons and hopes to one day complete a marathon. "I may not come in first, but there's a lot to be said for setting a goal, making sacrifices to achieve it, and crossing the finish line."
