Join us this Shrove Tuesday (2/17) for All-You-Can-Eat pancakes at 6 pm. This is a great opportunity for our community to come together in fellowship as we kick off the Lenten season. Then join us the next night (2/18) for our Ash Wednesday service again at 6 pm.
Ash Wednesday is almost here. The day we walk into church and get a black cross smeared on our foreheads while hearing the words… “Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
Not exactly a Hallmark card.
But Lent isn’t about groveling in spiritual misery. It’s about honesty. It’s about stepping out from behind the masks we can wear and letting God name what we already know: we are sinners. We are mortal. We are needy. And we cannot raise ourselves from the dead.
That’s where the good news sneaks in. The ashes form the shape of a cross. This points to Christ’s death for you. We are about to enter a journey of reflection and repentance, returning to our Heavenly Father for His inexhaustible grace and forgiveness.
So come at 6 pm on Ash Wednesday. Come with your failures, your fears, your secret sins, your exhaustion. Come hear again that the One who formed you from dust has stepped into the dust to redeem you.
