Ways to help

Adopt a family
If you (or someone you know) can adopt a family, please contact Dennis Lundbom ( ) and / or me ( ) asap. We will get you the family's 'wish list' (typically household necessities, clothing and / or toys for children ). You just need to deliver gifts to the St Michael hall by this Saturday. They will be delivered to families beginning at 10 am Saturday.

Donate now
If you can make a donation, we have shoppers who will fulfill the list of families that are not adopted.  Donations can be cash, check (payable to "K of C Council 4588") or Credit Card. Contact Dennis or me to let me know the amount. You can drop off donations at the St Michael office, mail to "  K of C Council 4588,   P.O. Box 1007, Livermore, CA 94550  " or call Dennis (775-772-6369).
Of course, a huge thank you to all who have already donated to this great program!

Christmas Party
The Christmas Party was a wonderful success on Saturday night! It was a packed house with lots of music, food, Christmas spirit and conversation. Thanks to everyone who decorated, sang, cooked, bartended, cleaned up anymore to make this such a fun evening! And what a special visit from our jolly old friend from up North. Aren't we all just children inside? Photos are getting posted on the website...take a look.
Pancake Breakfast
The crowds came out for pancakes this weekend and made donations to support the Christmas basket program, keeping our pancake griddles busy and making the knights smile. Thanks to all those who came out early to set up, decorate, cook, clean up, etc.
The next breakfast is the Science Camp breakfast on January 13th...mark your calendars.

Call for Crab Feed Auction Items
Our Crab Feed fundraiser is coming up in the Spring. This is one of our two big events that supports our charitable activities and we need great items to raise funds. If you have sporting event tickets (sports, performances), condos, timeshares, art, jewelry, services, please consider making a donation to the council and we will use it to raise funds during the auction.

If you would like to purchase a sponsorship of the event as marketing for your business, those are also available!!

If you have an item of value that you would like to contribute for auction, please contact Anthony Contarciego.
4th Degree Exemplification Signup Now Open
All 3rd degree Knights! You should SignUp for the upcoming 4th degree exemplification to be held in Rohnert Park on February 2nd. This is the best of the four membership ceremonies and closes out the 4th pillar of our Order - Patriotism. The event happens once per year in Rohnert Park and is the best way to become a Sir Knight. Applications will be available at the business meeting this Thursday.

Note: For those new members who are 1st degree Knights, you have an excellent opportunity to complete all three remaining degrees in a short time frame because a 2nd/3rd degree will be happening in Dublin on January 12th. It would be perfect to attend the 2nd/3rd degree in January and the 4th degree on February 4th.
Dues Notices
The time for dues notices is approaching. You should expect notices in December from our worthy Financial Secretary, Brian Littrell.

Thank you in advance for your prompt payment. In fact, you can probably pay Brian this Thursday at the business meeting and save yourself the cost of a stamp!

The 'Word' from our Sponsor

I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Psalm 16:8
Did you hear the one about the Knight ...

There were three Medieval kingdoms on the shores of a lake. There was an island in the middle of the lake, which the kingdoms had been fighting over for years. Finally, the three kings decided that they would send their knights out to do battle, and the winner would take the island.

The night before the battle, the knights and their squires pitched camp and readied themselves for the fight. The first kingdom had 12 knights, and each knight had 5 squires, all of whom were busily polishing armor, brushing horses, and cooking food. The second kingdom had 20 knights, and each knight had 10 squires. Everyone at that camp was also busy preparing for battle. At the camp of the third kingdom, there was only one knight, with his squire. This squire took a large pot and hung it from a looped rope in a tall tree. He busied himself preparing the meal, while the knight polished his own armor.

When the hour of the battle came, the three kingdoms sent their squires out to fight (this was too trivial a matter for the knights to join in). The battle raged, and when the dust cleared, the only person left was the lone squire from the third kingdom, having defeated the squires from the other two kingdoms.

I guess this just proves that the squire of the high pot and noose is equal to the sum of the squires of the other two sides.
