2022 DCS Retreat Parent Information

The all-High School Retreat is back! The 2022 retreat will take place on September 19-21 at Woodlands Camp in Cleveland, GA.

Required forms due Monday, September 12. Please turn into the school office.

Required for all students.

Only for prescription meds.

The Talent Show @ Retreat

Students are invited to participate in the talent show on Tuesday night at Retreat. Whether you sing, dance, play an instrument, act, or do comedy, share you talents on this fun-filled night!

performances can be individual or group
we will not hold auditions, but all acts must be approved
there will. be scheduled times for rehearsals
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes!
space for up to 10 acts.

Return forms to Mr. Lightner by Wednesday, September 14.

October Lunch Portal Now Open

The lunch portal for the month of OCTOBER is open! Please keep in mind the following dates:

October 14 - ½ day (no lunch)
October 17-18 - P/T Conferences (no school)
Tuesday and Friday - Senior Lunch

Please note that Sunday, September 18, is a hard deadline.

September 15, 8:30-9:15 AM @ Daily Grind

Join us at the Daily Grind on Thursday, September 15, for prayer. It's a great way to connect and come together to lift up our children, teachers, staff, and administration in prayer, and to be an encouragement and support to our school.

You are invited to our weekly chapel!

Each Wednesday morning at 9:40 we gather for a chapel service. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend our chapel services.

Picture Day, Monday, September 12

Lifetouch Photography will be on campus to take your child's annual picture for the yearbook. Students will be allowed to wear the following for Picture day:

OPTION #1: Nice collared shirt (or blouse) and jeans; no t-shirts.

OPTION #2: Girls: nice blouses; Boys: dress pants, collared shirt, tie. Note for girls: Shoulders must be covered and arm holes must be tight fitting; no skirts or dresses (a school uniform skirt would be acceptable)

Service Hours Opportunities

Due West Elementary PTA Fun Fest

Friday, September 9 | various time slots available

Due West PTA is looking for student volunteers for this year's Fun Fest! Please review the available time slots and sign up. Each volunteer will be given a signed volunteer hours slip.

Marzi Amirizadeh Fundraiser Volunteers Needed

Sunday, September 18

Marzi is an Iranian Christian who was imprisoned in Iran in 2009 for her Christian beliefs. She has written two books, "Captive in Iran" and "A Love Journey with God".

Marzi is running for GA House seat in District 67. She will be hosting an event with about 70 people where she will be a speaker and provide a light lunch on September 18th. Service hours could be accrued by helping with food prep / set up / serving and then help with clean up for this event.

Service hours are required for each high school student. DCS students must have completed 10 hours of volunteer service work for each year they are students at Dominion from the date of high school enrollment.

Freshmen: 40 hours

Sophomores: 40 hours (or 10 hrs for each year enrolled in HS)

Juniors & Seniors: 30 hours (or 10 hrs for each year enrolled in HS)
