See You at the Pole is a national event in which students from around the nation gather at the flag poles of their schools to pray for their schools, cities, and nation. It is a student led event. This year, Sr. Beta is hosting See You at the Pole on our campus around the pole outside Knight Field near the Dining Hall. We are inviting all 6th-12th grade students to join our Sr. Beta club in praying for our school, Lafayette and surrounding areas, and America. We will pray for the students and for the leadership of each area. We will begin at 7:30 AM on Wednesday, Sept 27 and join with schools around our nation in prayer.

The AfterSchoolHelp website is a digital tutor that parents may be interested in using to assist their child with homework for BJU press curriculum. Some courses match the exact textbook curriculum the students use in class.

Driver's Ed on Campus

We have driver’s ed offered on-campus through A Freeman Driving School.

Prior to taking the class, the students and their guardian/parent must go to the website for the DMV Home - Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles and make an appointment for the first time drivers license. They will charge you about $38.00 or so..it may be slightly different.

Take the original birth certificate and social security card with the student and you will get a Temporary Instructional Permit (TIP)

Once achieved, the student will need to go to: HOME | A Freeman Defensive Driving School

Click on the LCA location after giving the DOB and the special rates will apply. Make sure that we have all the information filled in including the TIP number. We will want to make sure that parents place their emails and emergency numbers and contacts on the online form.

This includes the following:

1. 30 Hours Classroom Theory Class

2. 8 Hour of behind the wheel training

3. The classroom written test. 40 questions and passing is 80%.

4. The driving assessment which is a written discourse to the parents so they know what to work on with the child during the parent/student driving while having a permit.

The last portion which is only open to those 17-19 is the Road Skills Test. This test is a 19 maneuver test in the car that will access the skills retained. This is a 20-minute test and will be performed at our Scott Office-104 Blue Boy Dr.

This test is $50.00 in which you would pay separate for the class as it is a different contract. Once completed and 80% or above is achieved, one would go to the DMV and simply change the permit to a license. There will be no fee as one would have paid it already.
