SUMMER READING PROGRAMS AND CHALLENGES- Contact Ms. Mills with questions.
Barnes & Noble (1st-6th grades) -- Read any eight books and record them in your Summer Reading Journal (click on link). When you're done, bring it to a Barnes & Noble store and choose your free book! Redeemable 7/1-8/31.
Pizza Hut (PreK-6th grades) -- Download the BOOK IT! app and set a monthly goal for each child in your family. Each child who accomplishes his goal will receive a coupon for a free, single-topping personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut.
Chuck E. Cheese -- Print out the 2-week reading log. When your child reads for a set time of your choosing each day, she will receive 10 free play points. This log is available online until December 31, and can be used until then.
Lamplighter Summer Reading Challenge -- "Grow spiritually, mentally, and creatively as you pursue excellence in the Arts and read great literature from times past! Download the Reading Point Tracker and Weekly Challenge Tracker to keep track of your points and weekly challenge submissions. You will receive weekly emails with more information when the challenge begins in May." This reading challenge is for readers of all ages.
The Good and the Beautiful -- Offers a summer reading pack for Kindergarten through young adults. You may order one pack per child in your household. You will have to pay $1.99 shipping per pack. Each pack includes a reading log, sticker sheet (only for kindergarten through 6th grade packs), bookmark, and book.
White House Summer Reading Challenge (Kindergarten-8th grades) -- Read and track 12 books of your choice between June 1 and September 4. When you finish your 12 books, send the information to the White House, and your child will receive a personalized certificate, an America 250th anniversary-themed bookmark, and a special link to receive a prize! Your child will also be entered for a chance to visit our nation’s capital and the White House with a chaperone. Terms and conditions apply.
