Knock, Knock... Were You There?
From Kerry Barr O'Connor, Executive Director

This year's Ultimate Power Lunch was in fact "the Ultimate". Our annual signature event, led once again by Jenn Andrew, featured our Professional Women's Group members sharing this year's award-winning Community Action Project: Women And Retirement, Emcee Extraordinaire Maureen O'Boyle, Paradigm Award Honorees Madia and Tim Barber, Keynote Speaker Colletta Bryce, and guest panelists Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, and Jay Everette, Senior Community Relations Manager at Wells Fargo. Each of our special guests shared their personal stories about how social capital, i.e. networks, access, and opportunity, has contributed to their successes.

Our Professional Women's Group members, including W.A.R. Co-chairs, Patricia and Tonya, celebrated their financial successes with this year's project. We loved hearing about their 21-day financial fast and the examples they shared, including immediate impact and positive changes to spending and savings practices.

Another successful sell-out, event proceeds support our full spectrum of workforce development services to women who seek to secure, retain, and advance their careers. We are so grateful to our amazing sponsors, table hosts, volunteers, and to each of you who made a generous financial contribution to move forward the mission of the organization.

So rather than knock, knock - click, click to check out pictures from this year's event.

Programming
While Miss USA Cheslie Kryst was here for the Ultimate Power Lunch, she also took time the day before the event to spend with the women in our job acquisition program, the  Going Places Network (GPN). The women did their homework and prepared some great  questions for Cheslie.
