The Word on Wednesday
John Chapter 7
Each Wednesday Pastor Chris shares a special message with us. He's currently focusing on the Gospel of John as we read through it as a church family. Connect with us at 1:00 p.m. For previous episodes, click here!
Knollwood's Fall Emphasis
Anchored or Drifting?
This fall, as a church, we are reading through the Gospel of John. Pastor Mark is preaching each Sunday from the book, and Community Groups are discussing their observations from it as well. This is part of a focus on being anchored to Jesus and being careful about “drifting” from an intimate walk with Christ, especially during this crazy time of the COVID pandemic.
You are encouraged to join with others in engaging with the Gospel of John even if you haven’t been reading to this point. Here is the assigned reading portion for next week (week of October 18): John, chapter eight.

Anchor yourself in God’s Word and you will find yourself increasingly anchored in Jesus.
Bikes for Nicaragua
Tomorrow, Saturday October 10th, NicaWorks ministry (www.nica.works) will be at KCC from 8am-3pm collecting used bikes (any size & in any condition).

Since 2004, NicaWorks has been helping break the cycle of poverty through economic and spiritual growth. Thousands of families have been blessed by donated bicycles shipped to Nicaragua.

In the last three years Knollwood collected 444 bikes and we are hoping to have a big collection this year. Please tell your friends and neighbors.

Operation Christmas Child

The COVID 19 global pandemic has disrupted everyday life for millions of people around the world. As the world wrestles with this pandemic, children around the world need hope now more than ever. Filling an “Operation Christmas Child Shoebox” is a way you can help. Each shoebox filled with toys and other fun items is an opportunity for you to show how much you care.

KCC is again partnering with Samaritan’s Purse for “OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD OUTREACH”. OCC shoeboxes will be available for pick-up at the church on Sundays in October in the front lobby. Instructions for packing and shipping will be included in each shoebox.

Just fill it and return it to the church no later than Sunday, November 15th.
If you have any questions please email me at npjudy@hotmail.com or call me at 703-314-9857.

October Bible Verses

Memorizing scripture is so important! We are going to start dedicating some time to working on memorizing each month's Bible verse. Our curriculum gives us a memory verse each month that goes along with our theme for the month. This month's theme is on Comparison, something all of us struggle with in one form or another!
BONFIRE & PUMPKIN-CARVING

Happy Fall Y'all! Fall is in the air and it's that time of year to gather around the fire! We are going back to the Rogers' Farm for a bonfire on October 25. Keep an eye out for an email that will have the link to register. You won't want to miss it!
