Knollwood's Fall Emphasis
Anchored or Drifting?
This fall, as a church, we are reading through the Gospel of John. Pastor Mark is preaching each Sunday from the book, and Community Groups are discussing their observations from it as well. This is part of a focus on being anchored to Jesus and being careful about “drifting” from an intimate walk with Christ, especially during this crazy time of the COVID pandemic.
You are encouraged to join with others in engaging with the Gospel of John even if you haven’t been reading to this point. Here is the assigned reading portion for next week (week of September 27): John, chapter six.

Anchor yourself in God’s Word and you will find yourself increasingly anchored in Jesus.
Annual Business Meeting

Mark your calendars for our annual business meeting on Sunday, September 27, 2020 after the service.

For those members who would like to vote but choose not to come inside, someone will be stationed on the edge of the patio to provide a ballot for you between 9:30 and 10:00a that morning. You can stay in your car, fill out your ballot (bring your own pen), and we will count it with the other ballots after the worship service is over.
Operation Christmas Child

The COVID 19 global pandemic has disrupted everyday life for millions of people around the world. As the world wrestles with this pandemic, children around the world need hope now more than ever. Filling an “Operation Christmas Child Shoebox” is a way you can help. Each shoebox filled with toys and other fun items is an opportunity for you to show how much you care.
KCC is again partnering with Samaritan’s Purse for “OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD OUTREACH”. OCC shoeboxes will be available for pick-up at the church starting this Sunday, September 27th in the front lobby. Instructions for packing and shipping will be included in each shoebox.
Just fill it and return it to the church no later than Sunday, November 15th.
If you have any questions please email me at or call me at 703-314-9857.
Thanks and have fun!!

On Saturday October 10th, NicaWorks ministry ( will be at KCC from 8am-3pm collecting used bikes (any size & in any condition).

Since 2004, NicaWorks has been helping break the cycle of poverty through economic and spiritual growth. Thousands of families have been blessed by donated bicycles shipped to Nicaragua.

In the last three years Knollwood collected 444 bikes and we are hoping to have a big collection this year. Please tell your friends and neighbors.

Back to School Breakfast Fun!

We had the best time kicking off the new school year and welcoming rising 7th graders with burritos from Anita's and other tasty treats. After we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, we played a few games and a few of our youth leaders shared their testimonies.

Welcome to our newest youth leaders, Liz Pierce, Lily Howell, and Jackie Brooks, who will be helping out with rising 7th graders. Please continue praying for our students and school staff throughout this school year!
We had a great turnout for our first in-person event of the school year!
