Get ready for a howling good time at Howl-O-Ween!


Join for a morning packed with tail-wagging Halloween fun for dogs and their humans. Costumes are encouraged, so grab your favorite four-legged friend and come sit, stay and celebrate at this FREE, family-friendly event!

WHAT TO EXPECT?

The inaugural Howl-O-Ween event features dog-friendly events including a photo booth, crafts, hydration station, community partner booths and sponsor giveaways to participate in from 9:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, October 24.


RULES & GUILDLINES

  • All dogs must be on a leash at all times.
  • Please clean up your dog's waste. Bag stations and trashcans are available throughout event space.
  • Aggressive behavior must be addressed immediately. In the event of aggression, please move your dog to another part of the park or leave the park.
  • Persons in violation of these rules may be required to leave the park.
  • Dog owners are responsible for, and liable with respect to, the actions of their dogs and damages or injury to person or property caused by same.

HOWL-O-WEENER DACHSHUND DOG RACE CONTEST

Get ready for a short-legged showdown at the Howl-O-Weener Dog Race! Dachshunds will dash to the finish line in a series of fun-filled heats, with the fastest pups advancing for a chance to be crowned the Howl-O-Weener Champion!


Lazy Dog will officiate the Howl-O-Weener Dog Race Contest.

TRAIL OF TREATS

Grab a bag and hit the trail! Stroll through Howl-O-Ween’s Trail of Treats, where participating vendors and community partners will be handing out treats, giveaways, and other goodies for dogs and their humans along the way.

  • Doody Calls - To help you collect your loot, free reusable event bags, graciously provided by our sponsor DoodyCalls, will be available while supplies last.
  • Jake's Pet Food & Supplies - Jake's Pet Food & Supplies is giving away $10.00 gift cards to their store so come visit them on the Trail of Treats! 
  • Lumi Dental - Be sure to pick up your FREE collapsible dog bowls (while supplies last). These bowls are provided by our sponsor, Lumi Dental and are perfect to use at the Hydration Station! 



SIT, STAY, CHILL LOUNGE

Hosted by Mod Dog Salon, with complimentary teeth cleaning or ear cleaning, at the pet owner’s choice, to dogs attending the Howl-O-Ween event.


Services will be provided at no cost to attendees and are subject to each dog’s willingness and ability to safely and cooperatively participate.



PAW SPA

Hosted by Woofie's of Delray Beach, with complimentary nail trimming to dogs attending the Howl-O-Ween event.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

For the Howl-O-Ween event at Countess de Hoernle Park, please note these important reminders:


What to Bring? Bring your dog with a leash on at all times.


Go Green, Bring Your Canteen Bring your reusable water bottle! The City's mobile water unit will supply FREE filtered water for at the event.


What NOT to Bring any pets that are NOT dogs, dogs that are sick, dogs that are in heat. Fireworks or firecrackers of any kind, airhorns or loud items that may startle dogs are prohibited.


Event Space The Countess de Hoernle Park is NOT a dog park. Dogs ARE NOT permitted on the athletic fields. Dogs must remain in the event space.


Food & Beverages A variety of food and beverages will be available for purchase.


Restrooms Located at the Athletic Facility restroom building.


Weather In case of severe weather during the events, follow directives from emergency personnel and event staff.

WHERE TO PARK AND HOW TO GET AROUND 


Please note the following parking information:


Parking Please park in the Athletic Complex parking lot. If lot is full, additional parking can found across the street in the Spanish River Library parking lot. Accessible parking is available.


Bicyclists Bike racks available at the Spanish River Library. Wear reflective clothing and add reflective material to your bike for safety.
