First-of-its-kind fund provides support and protection for prescribed fire and cultural burning.
On the topic of innovation, a work group convened by CAL FIRE launched a new pilot fund earlier this month called the "Prescribed Fire Liability Pilot Fund" to provide prescribed and cultural fire practitioners protection and support as they restore California's forests and wildlands. Another goal of the fund: showing how controlled burns are meticulously planned, managed strategically, and rarely cause the damage that some may fear.
