Knowing God

"God is Love."  

~1 John 4:8

If you want to truly know God, you need to understand love, because God is love. If you understand the love of God, you will know and understand God.

Love is spiritual. It is not something we can see. But it is like the wind. We can see it and feel its effects. Love is a motivator, a paradigm changer, a wonderful feeling, or even terrifying.

Yes love can be terrifying before a commitment to love is made. However, when you cross over to God’s love, you let go of so many other things, like self-importance, measuring up to others’ expectations and a selfish kind of self-love. When you get there, you find you never really needed them at all.

The strange thing is, you can’t learn this by hearing (or reading) the words. You must cross over into living in God’s love. Then it all becomes so clear. 

Dare to try it! Give your heart to God. It will change the way you see everything, and it will change your life!
