| | The Person Behind the Events | | | | |
You’ve seen the events. Now meet the person behind them.
A 50th anniversary. A groundbreaking. A 20th anniversary. A sold-out breakfast. In six days this September, Whitney Zelmer took our team through all of the above with Acart’s 50th, Rohit’s groundbreaking at Wateridge Village, Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice’s 20th Anniversary in front of 600 guests at the Canadian Tire Centre, and United Way East Ontario’s inaugural sold-out breakfast!
Four clients, four completely different rooms, and one person making sure each client felt like her only priority. That’s our Whitney! She catches the little things before they become big things and brings care to every detail. Thank you, Whitney, for everything you do.
| | Fifty Years of Acart Communications | | |
Fifty years of creativity calls for a celebration. On September 24, Acart Communications marked the milestone at the Westin Ottawa’s TwentyTwo, joined by founder Al Albania, president and CEO Andrew McWiggan, and Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, who presented an official proclamation. We were delighted to help bring the evening to life, taking care of the details behind the scenes so the Acart team could enjoy their moment.
Congratulations to the whole Acart team on half a century!
| | | Rohit Group Breaks Ground on The Avro | | | | |
A reception on an active construction site takes some planning. On September 25, Rohit Group broke ground on Astra Block and The Avro at Wateridge Village, two of three apartment buildings that will bring more than 375 homes to Ottawa’s east end. We had the pleasure of planning the evening around it, working out everything from guest flow to the weather plan so the milestone could take centre stage.
Both buildings take their names from the area’s aviation history, a nod to the museum and airfield next door.
| | Twenty Years of Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice | | |
Since January, we’ve been working with Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice on its 20th anniversary, from family stories and media relations to the events themselves.
It all came together on September 27, when 600 families, staff, volunteers and partners filled the Canadian Tire Centre for an afternoon of bubbles, stilt walkers and yellow anniversary ties.
Twenty years of walking beside families through the hardest days imaginable, and one afternoon to celebrate it.
| | | A Good Morning with United Way | | | | |
United Way East Ontario is aiming to raise more than $21 million this year, and on September 29 it set that year in motion at the Infinity Convention Centre. More than 370 community leaders filled a sold-out room for A Good Morning with United Way, the first event of its kind for the organization.
We were glad to help make it happen, from the venue search through to the morning itself. What filled the room was all theirs: the people who shared what United Way-funded services have meant to them, and a closing that had everyone’s hands in the air.

The Snowsuit Fund Opens Its 45th Season | | |
Forty-five seasons of keeping Ottawa kids warm. The Snowsuit Fund launched its 2026 season at the Donald Street depot, and we were glad to have a hand in the morning, which brought Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, Councillor Stephanie Plante, the Fund’s board, volunteers and supporters together to mark it.
Councillor Stephanie Plante spoke about how the depot supported her own family years ago. That’s what 45 seasons looks like from the inside. Last winter the Fund gave out 21,315 snowsuits, more than 5,000 have already gone out this season, and all of it happens without government funding.
| | | Pinktober at Hard Rock Ottawa | |
Since October 1, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa has been turning drinks, desserts, merchandise and leftover slot tickets into money for breast cancer research, right through to the 31st. It’s part of Hard Rock International’s 27th annual Pinktober campaign, which has raised more than $15 million worldwide, with Canadian donations going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
If you’re heading out that way before the month ends, Pinktober drinks and desserts are available at Council Oak, the Hard Rock Cafe, Constant Grind, Plum Lounge and on the casino floor, plus a merch collection at the Rock Shop and a photo booth that costs nothing but a share.
