A Message from our Board of Directors President,
Jeff Sanford
Kodiak Chamber Members,
Back to School!
Thousands of students, teachers, and administrators are back in action. As a father of three, I watched my oldest son start high school, my second son start junior high, and my youngest daughter starts second grade. The look on their faces before they left was a look of anxiousness. After two years of start, stop, start, stop, they all came back with big smiles and relief. They all were excited to be back to normal and ready for an exciting full year. Here’s to the Kodiak Island Borough School District for everything they do to make these experiences great.
With that said, fall is here. The Chamber is excited to announce the upcoming fishery debates on October 3rd and 4th. Be sure to attend. This should be good. Also, our Annual Chamber Meeting & Recognition Dinner, will be held on October 29th at 6 PM. Get your tickets early; this will fill up fast.
As we prepare for fall, please support our local businesses and acknowledge the businesses you use daily. Thank them for being there for you! This act of appreciation goes a long way on our island.
We have approximately 270 members. We are hoping to increase membership by 30 members. If you are out and about, ask the business if they are chamber members. If they are not, have them call me. I’ll explain why they need to be a member. It’s vital that we act as a strong group to represent the business interests now and far beyond into the future.
September dates to remember:
-
Coffee with the Chamber: Rank Choice Voting – Sept. 14th
-
MEP Info Session – Sept. 15th
-
Business After Hours: Carlile Transportation – Sept. 15th
- Business After Hours & 20th Anniversary Celebration: Alaska 1 Realty – Sept. 30th
Sincerely,
Jeff Sanford
Board of Director President
