DANCE ON PAPER ART SHOW
Upper School students drawing Wednesday for Dance on Paper, a collaboration between the CSS art departments and the Ormao School of Dance. Members of the Ormao dance company pose as live models for the students to draw from life. It is a real-world opportunity to practice as aspiring artists must do to hone their craft, working from life and models to understand concepts like line, weight, movement and gesture. The students' drawings will be on display from October 21 through November 23, 2019 in the Louisa Performing Arts Center.
TEACHER RECEIVES AWARD
Kindergarten Teacher Jolly Cunha was one of 10 teachers in the Pikes Peak region to receive the Extra Yard for Teachers award last week from the College Football Playoff Foundation in conjunction with Air Force Athletics. She was selected from more than 600 nominations, will receive $1,000 for classroom supplies. Mya T.'s family nominated her; she's pictured with Mya. Congratulations, Mrs. Cunha!
STUDENTS GATHER INFO AT COLLEGE FAIR
More than 60 representatives from colleges and universities were on campus on Monday for our annual College Fair, which was open to all Upper School students. Reps answered students' questions about admission requirements and more. It's just one way CSS helps prepare students for the college process. We also provide a College Overview class, test prep workshops, and a dedicated College Counselor.
SUBMIT STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS & PHOTOS
Parents and teachers are encouraged to submit nominations and digital photos of student achievements to Anslee Wolfe, Communications and Marketing Manager, at  [email protected] These extracurricular achievements make us a well-rounded school and highlight the many unique talents and passions of our student body.  Each week, a diverse selection of achievements is highlighted in ROAR and shared on social media.
