HELP KOL AMI SUPPORT REFUGEES ARRIVING THIS FALL IN UTAH

The Kol Ami Social Action/Social Justice Committee is calling for community members to join the team that has already assembled for the joint Kol Ami-CBY Community Sponsorship Program. In this program, the International Rescue Committee—Utah Office links us for six months with a newly-arrived family from Afghanistan or another country. During that time we help them set up their apartment, sign up for English lessons, practice their English, find a job, sign their kids up for school, and a myriad of other tasks that help the family ease into their new life in the United States.

Many Jewish community members remember hearing the stories from our immigrant grandparents or great grandparents about how hard it was for them when they arrived. Today, Jewish agencies like HIAS and congregations across the country are helping support new immigrants to the United States.

If you want to join the team, please email our team leader, Eric Goldman. Thank you!
