Krasl Art Center Announces Adjusted Exhibition Schedule
NOVEMBER 20, ST.JOSEPH, MICH. - Krasl Art Center (KAC) announced earlier this week that they are temporarily closed. Limited times are still available by appointment for individual households to explore the galleries and support regional artists in The Shop. To schedule your visit or learn more about these opportunities, email [email protected]. For the latest information on KAC programming and hours, virtual galleries, and additional art-resources, visit krasl.org.

The decision to temporarily close was made in the best interest of public and staff safety. As a result, KAC’s exhibition timeline and programs have shifted.

The current exhibitions will be extended.
Krasl Art Center is pleased to announce the exhibitions Artists as Influencers: Pathways in Glass and Shelter-in-Place will remain on-view through January 24, 2021. Discover more about the exhibition, artists and processes involved in the exhibit on KAC’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

KAC Members’ Show: Inspired By...
The KAC Member’s Show has been rescheduled and will open in 2021. On view January 30 - March 28, 2021, the KAC Members’ Show: Inspired By… considers pathways between artists, media, and meaning. An integral part of the artistic process, inspiration is the spark that shapes new creative endeavors. Inspired by… showcases the work of KAC’s member artists and the people, places, and objects that have influenced that work. KAC member artists are invited to display one artwork created within the past two years that addresses the theme. All media are accepted and artists of every skill set are encouraged to submit in this annual celebration of local talent.

Artwork drop-ff is scheduled for January 22-25, 2021. Details will be posted at krasl.org and are subject to change.

In the artlab: Jennifer Zona
Local artist, KAC member, teacher and Ceramic Studio Manager Jennifer Zona will be featured in KAC’s artlab gallery January 30 - March 28, 2021. Zona is a ceramic & textile artist and manages KAC’s ceramic studios and kiln firings. See more of Zona’s art on her website: cargocollective.com/Zona and on Instagram: @zonaj

The Art and Wellness Pop-Up Carries on.
A new Art & Wellness Pop-Up will still be piloted in KAC’s recently-updated community lounge when KAC re-opens. It will move to the Benton Harbor Public Library in January. The project is the result of an innovative partnership between KAC and Spectrum Health Lakeland’s Population Health Department. The kiosk-like pop-up is based on the Trauma Resource Institute’s Community Resilience Model (CRM). ® Visitors will be able to increase their understanding of mental health, understand the concept of resilience, and participate in engaging, arts-based activities that provide opportunities to practice and build resiliency skills during a pre-scheduled visit and again when KAC reopens.
