Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff announces partnership with 1st Source Bank Wealth Advisory Services and 2021 event plans
TUESDAY, MAY 18, ST. JOSEPH, MI - In a year where many of Michigan’s fairs and festivals have been canceled due to the pandemic, Krasl Art Center (KAC) announces that the Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff plans are in full swing for 2021. Additionally, the event announces a two-year commitment from 1st Source Bank as presenting event sponsor. Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff presented by 1st Source Bank Wealth Advisory Services celebrates artists and our community in Lake Bluff Park Saturday, July 10 (10am-6pm EST), and Sunday, July 11 (10am-5pm EST).

Event organizers are committed to compliance with current state guidelines, even as pandemic changes shift into summer. Lake Bluff Park will be gated to the north and south of Broad Street. Entrance reservations may be made and tickets are sold in advance. None of these new changes would be possible without the support of our community who has helped plan the event at warp-speed, and the sponsors who offset expenses related to these safety measures. 2021 event plans comply with current Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Large Outdoor Event Guidelines. A link to the guidelines can be found here: https://www.michigan.gov/documents/coronavirus/Enhanced_Outdoor_Stadium_and_Arena_Guidance_3.19.21_719887_7.pdf

“At 1st Source Bank, we value being in leadership in the communities we serve, and we know the arts are an important piece of the fabric of our communities. We’re proud to partner with the Krasl Art Center in support of their mission of strengthening communities through the visual arts. The Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff is a unique opportunity to showcase high-quality art to a wide variety of area residents and visitors, and we’re happy to be part of this great event,” states Chris Strafford, Senior Vice President 1st Source Bank Wealth Advisory Services.

For safety and in accordance with state guidelines, it is highly recommended attendees reserve their entry time and purchase their tickets in advance. Beginning May 18, tickets for the event can be purchased through Ticketspice. A link to Ticketspice will be available at Krasl.org or general admission tickets can be purchased directly by visiting kraslartcenter.ticketspice.com/2021-krasl-art-fair-tix. Prices are $5 per attendee over the age of 2. In order to ensure an accurate attendance count, free children’s tickets will need to be reserved online or by phone for all children ages 0-2.

If capacity permits, a limited number of general admission tickets may be available the weekend of the event. Cash sales will only be accepted at Krasl Art Center located at 707 Lake Boulevard on July 10 and 11. A limited number of weekend-full VIP Patron Packages are available to new or exciting KAC members, learn more at krasl.org and kraslartcenter.ticketspice.com/krasl-art-fair-on-the-bluff-2021-patron-packages

Julia Gourley Donohue, KAC Executive Director, states:

“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with 1st Source Bank through their 2021 and 2022 presenting sponsorship of Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff. When looking at how we could bring the 2021 Fair back this year, the safety of our guests and artists is our number one priority. We are honored to be joined by 1st Source Bank to present these changes this year and look forward to celebrating the 60th Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff presented by 1st Source Bank in 2022.

By following recommendations of public safety officials we are confident that our patrons can feel comfortable attending this year’s event. We began planning in February under the assumption that there would be restrictions in place; the entrance time reservations and advance purchase tickets help to keep the event safe for all. Proceeds from the $5 entrance fee will be used to support next year's Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff presented by 1st Source Bank Wealth Advisory Services and a variety of KAC’s year-round free programs.”

Visitor check-in areas for ticket holders will be located along Lake Boulevard at Broad, Pearl, and Ship Streets. All attendees will need to present their ticket information, complete a verbal COVID symptom check and will be required to adhere to the following safety guidelines while on event grounds.

Krasl Art Fair will comply with all MDHHS suggestions and guidelines for Large Outdoor Events and will provide updates as needed as we approach the fair weekend.

Laura Lukas, KAC Board President, says:

“As I speak with people in the community and hear from our Art Fair artists, I feel incredible energy and excitement about the Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff! By taking steps to follow the most updated guidelines, we will be able to have an Art Fair that meets our standards of high-quality artwork on our beautiful Bluff!”
