Kathleen Burton has taught in the French department at Yale University since 2007. She has a PhD in theology from L’Université Laval in Québec, an MA in French from Central Connecticut State University, and a BA in political science from University of California, Los Angeles. She has studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and at the Institut d’Études Politiques de Bordeaux.
Her book was originally published in French by The University Laval Press and she has been updating, translating, and further researching it for the past 16 years. She retired from Yale last year in order to begin a speaking tour that has taken her to The American Academy of Religion Conference last November in Denver, to The European Academy of Religion Conference last June in Scotland and she was featured on a national zoom last May by the Alliance Française in an hour-long interview on her book. She is an active member of Milford’s Senior Center and a resident of Milford.
