Settlement funds will have catalytic impact
Projects within Aiken County received $168,850,000 as part of the settlement agreement between South Carolina and the federal government, specifically the U.S. Department of Energy, over the long-term storage of plutonium at the Savannah River Site. “These are transformative investments in our region that will benefit Aiken County for decades to come,” said S.C. Senator Tom Young, R- Aiken.

On June 15, the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare celebrated the opening of its new ”Paws n’ Play” recreation yard. This space will provide enrichment and activities to boost the confidence of their pups so that they will have a greater chance at success in their new, forever homes. The SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare is located at 199 Willow Run Road.
