Hello Braiders,
Happy Holidays and
greetings from the snow-covered winter
wonderland of Truckee! I hope you are all enjoying getting ready for the holidays. We are busy here and sometimes I wonder how it will all get done, but it always does. Just remember, when things get stressful, take out your Kumihimo and start braiding!
The December Kit of the Month is a new variation of the Three Braid Necklace I offered a few months ago. This necklace is made up of 3 braids and it's super easy. This is a great project for any level of braider, including beginners! This necklace is a beauty and I do have limited quantities. If you are
interested, don't hesitate and order it now.
I wish all of you the happiest of holidays filled with friends, family, love, laughter and caring and sharing. I appreciate each and everyone of you.
With much gratitude and
Happy Braiding,

December Kit of the Month - "3 Braid Necklace with Ribbon & Shimmering Tubular Yarn"
|
The December Kit of the Month is a variation of the Three Braid Necklace I featured a few months ago. With the new variation, each necklace is comprised of 3 different color ways of Kumihimo Rayon Ribbon with coordinating Tubular Shimmer Yarn. You have to take my word on the "shimmer" - it's subtle and special but I couldn't quite catch it in my photos! The colors are gorgeous.
Take a look at the "close-up" photo (bottom) and you will see what I mean. This is a great kit for all levels. Beginners can handle it and braiders with more experience will have fun with it too. After braiding the three braids, they are threaded through the Focal Motif and the necklace is finished off with the "straight" glue-in Magnetic End Caps (pictured below). The finished length is around 24" (depending on braider) and you can make it shorter if you like.
You will need:
Kumihimo Disk (mini or 6")
, 8 Bobbins (I used small plastic EZ Bobbins), Scissors, Tape Measure, Needle & Thread and Glue (I use
WeldBond
). You should know: Kongoh Gumi Braid (also known as the Round Braid).
 Kit includes:
- 3 skeins Kumihimo Rayon Ribbon
- 3 Skeins Tubular Shimmer Yarn
- Focal Motif
- Straight Magnetic End Caps
- Instructions with Photos
Cost: $38
