OUR NEW PASTOR HAS BEEN NAMED
We were notified over the weekend that the Bishop and Cabinet has appointed our new pastor, Rev. Kallie Green. SPRC met with her and her family, David and Isaac Schmersal, on Saturday. Pastor Kallie comes to us as Family Discipleship Pastor at Tarrytown UMC. She will preach for us on June 26, and her official start date is July 1. You will be pleased to know that she and her family will live in our Parsonage and possibly move in early.
I know we will all give Pastor Kallie and family a warm KUMC welcome and embrace them as they join to worship with us. A bio will be emailed today to everyone.

March Blessings Box Drive- Fruit!
March is the month when people start planting after the cold weather. Lets celebrate by donating canned fruits to the Blessings Box. Hard skinned fresh fruits like pears, apples and oranges can be donated as well.
Thanks for Loving your Neighbor, KUMC! As always, please help us maintain the integrity of our Blessings Box. Please no opened or used food or hygiene products.

Community Support for the Blessings Box
Manchaca resident Lori Vargas enjoys couponing as a weekend hobby. However she wanted to donate the goods rather than keep them. She heard of our Blessing Box and kindly decided to donate to KUMC. She has donated this amount 3 months in a row.
She wanted to donate items other than food because they can not be bought with food stamps and these items are often expensive. We are blessed to have Lori as a KUMC friend.

Trustee's Report
If you have been in the Family Life Center recently, you know that Trustees are working in that space.
Several of the can lights became inoperable. Since the ceiling height is unsafe for work from a ladder, we rented a 20’ lift to reach and investigate the problem. We learned that the existing ballasts, sockets and bulbs are old technology and costly to replace, so Trustees are working to retrofit the same fixtures to LED lights which are more energy efficient and brighter.
We are thankful for an anonymous gift to fund this work, which will be on-going for the better part of February, since it will include replacing stained ceiling tiles and cleaning vents in the ceiling while we have the lift.
We know you will be patient as we must have equipment in FLC for a few weeks; the result will be a needed improvement.

|
CALLING ALL KEYS!
Please let Nancy Davidson know if you have a key(s) to our buildings. There is no intent to retract keys from anyone, Trustees simply want to create a list of members who retain them.

New Curriculum Starting in January!
LEARNING THROUGH A LENS OF WONDER
Celebrate Wonder is a Sunday school curriculum that engages children’s natural sense of curiosity to help them understand God’s love. It creates a safe environment for kids to ask big questions — helping them explore the Bible in ways that feed their imagination and encourages creativity. Through carefully-selected Bible stories, songs, videos, and hands-on activities, Celebrate Wonder gives children the tools to explore their faith while incorporating it into their daily lives.
