November Dinner Church will be on Wednesday, November 13th starting at 5:30pm.

Thanksgiving will be here soon. Let’s help families in our area to have a special Thanksgiving meal. $30 will provide a family with a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Please donate as you are able, any amount is helpful and appreciated. You may put a special donation in the Sunday offering but please note for “Turkeys Tackling Hunger” or drop a check off in the Fellowship Hall box provided. We will be collecting until Nov 17.
Thank you all for your support!
Blessings Box News

We want to take a moment to thank the church and the community for your support of the Blessings Box. Thanks to you, the Blessings Box has been well stocked for the past couple of months and we have been able to help feed those that are hungry in our community.

As we move into the colder season, we ask that donations do not include items in glass jars (baby food, sauces, etc) because they might freeze and broken glass is a safety issue.

The annual Angel Tree will kickoff this Sunday, November 10 .The agency we are working with this year is CASA of Central Texas. CASA advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system by recruiting, training and supporting community volunteers. Our Youth Group has helped to select 50 Angels for our tree this year.
When you select your Angel we also ask that you pray for each one of them by name. The total amount spent on each child should be in the $30-$50 price range. Items on the wish list are suggestions from their CASA volunteer, you are not expected to purchase everything on the list. Typical requests are for dolls, art supplies, Legos and gift cards.
With each Angel you will find a heart clipped to it. Please fill out the heart with your information and drop it in the labeled box. This way we can keep track and make sure all the Angels make it back in time.

Gifts should be brought unwrapped and placed under the Christmas Tree in the Fellowship Hall by Sunday, November 24 . Make sure to include the Angel on the gift so
it goes to the right child. The Youth Group will be delivering the gifts on Sunday, December 1.
For any questions or concerns please contact Natalie Simcoe 512-422-4309 [email protected] .
Hanging of the Greens

Stay after the second service on Sunday, November 24th for the Hanging of the Greens as we prepare the church for Advent. We will begin at 12:30pm.
Fill the Stable Project begins Dec 1st

During Advent, the congregation at KUMC prepares our hearts for the Christ child by remembering that Christmas is not our birthday but Jesus' birthday. Our “Fill the Stable” mission focus for Advent reorients our giving in this season toward others in Jesus’ name. Instead of buying a poinsettia in honor or memory of a loved one, you can purchase an animal or a share of an animal through Heifer International to help “fill the stable” for Christmas Eve.

Heifer gives livestock and training to people around the world, following up on how they are doing, and transforming communities in the process. The most beautiful of the Heifer principles is called “Passing on the Gift.” After their projects are established, families that received resources from Heifer pass on these gifts to other families in need in their community, allowing them to help others as they have been helped.

For more information on Heifer International, visit https://www.heifer.org/

All are welcome, not just members or people who attend KUMC! No bible needed and no homework/materials to prepare ahead of each meeting.

Come join this wonderful group of non-perfect Christians who get together each week to support each other as they explore, learn, and go deeper into their faith.
Be ready the next time disaster strikes our area.  We have 2 remaining Basic ERT classes scheduled for 2019. Share these classes with your church and friends. You do not have to be a Methodist to get trained and help during a disaster. Class locations & dates below along with a link to the Basic Training sign-up.

The members of the Living the Questions Adult Sunday School class invite you to join in a study of John Wesley and Methodists, the beliefs and actions that started the group of believers called Methodists.

The class will consist of some readings, some presentations, and an extended dialogue about what it means to us today. Travel with us from Epworth, Lincolnshire in 1703 through time attending Oxford, during ordination in the Anglican church, on a trip to the New World in 1735 to preach in Georgia, and onward to return to England, Aldergate Street, and the continued the development of a group of Methodists, in both England and America, as Methodism was born. Live the Questions with us in the faith journey.

We invite you to join us at 10:00 on Sunday mornings in the Wallace Classroom.

Sunday Night Youth Group

Who wants to come hang out with some awesome youth?!? We are in need of adults to help with Youth Group. Can't help every Sunday? That's ok! Help when you're able. We have to have a minimum of 2 adults each Sunday for Safe Gatherings ratio so that gives us an opportunity to have lots of adults impact the lives of the kids in our growing youth group!

Can't help on Sundays? You can support our youth by providing meals and snacks.
If you'd like to volunteer or want more information, please contact Alissa Villarreal at [email protected] or 361-441-4206.
