E-mail Security Issue

If you receive an email from Pastor Stella requesting gift cards or stating there is an emergency, please disregard. Pastors have been being used in an e-mail scam recently, and unfortunately, Pastor Stella has been added to the club.

Pastor Stella is not currently asking for anything by e-mail, but if you'd like to turn in your pledge cards at church, she will definitely take them!
Breakfast Taco Sales

Youth will be selling breakfast tacos on Sunday, December 1st to raise money for Lock-ins, Midwinter Retreat and Mission Trips.

We will have bacon, sausage and potato tacos with corn tortilla options. Tacos are $2 each.

Thank you for supporting our youth!
Blessings Box News

We want to take a moment to thank the church and the community for your support of the Blessings Box. Thanks to you, the Blessings Box has been well stocked for the past couple of months and we have been able to help feed those that are hungry in our community.

As we move into the colder season, we ask that donations do not include items in glass jars (baby food, sauces, etc) because they might freeze and broken glass is a safety issue.

Fill the Stable Project begins Dec 1st

During Advent, the congregation at KUMC prepares our hearts for the Christ child by remembering that Christmas is not our birthday but Jesus' birthday. Our “Fill the Stable” mission focus for Advent reorients our giving in this season toward others in Jesus’ name. Instead of buying a poinsettia in honor or memory of a loved one, you can purchase an animal or a share of an animal through Heifer International to help “fill the stable” for Christmas Eve.

Heifer gives livestock and training to people around the world, following up on how they are doing, and transforming communities in the process. The most beautiful of the Heifer principles is called “Passing on the Gift.” After their projects are established, families that received resources from Heifer pass on these gifts to other families in need in their community, allowing them to help others as they have been helped.

For more information on Heifer International, visit https://www.heifer.org/
The Annual Gift and Craft Market is just around the corner!

CALLING ALL BAKERS!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

Your UMW is sponsoring a Christmas Bake Sale as part of the Annual Gift and Craft Market on December 7. All the proceeds help KUMC directly!

We invite all our church family to bake or purchase your favorite cookies, cakes, pies, cup cakes or sweet treats and contribute them to our sale. We do ask that cookies be pre-packaged in plastic zip lock baggies (2 large or 4 small per bag) for ease in selling. We will take care of pricing!!

Please deliver your baked goods to the FLC Kitchen on
Friday, December 6th from 4:00 to 6pm Or Saturday, DEC 7 by 10am.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND SUPPORT AND GOD BLESS YOU!
We invite Children and youth and their families to join us as we journey through Bethlehem together! Sunday Dec 15th at 6pm.

We will park and meet at Barton Middle School and then walk across as a group to the event at the Fellowship at Plum Creek Church. * We will enjoy hot chocolate and cookies at the event but no other food will be provided. Please eat before coming if you think you might be hungry.

What is A Night in Bethlehem? A Night in Bethlehem is a living nativity story where you and your family will be guided through the story of the birth of Jesus. This year, Mary and Joseph will be your guides as you experience the journey to Bethlehem to fulfill the census. After your journey with Mary and Joseph, our modern area will have hot chocolate and cookies, Christmas music and dancing from Dance to Glory Studios. You can also meet the shepherds and pet the animals and even take a picture in Bethlehem clothing at our free photo booth.

How much does it cost to go to A Night in Bethlehem? Nothing. Everything is absolutely free for you and your family to enjoy the story of Jesus’ birth. We hope to make A Night in Bethlehem a family tradition.
Sunday Dec 22nd at 11:15am Service

All children are welcome to participate and can join in that morning- no practice needed! Youth will do the readings.

Donuts and Fellowship

Did you know that the donuts we enjoy every Sunday are provided by generous donations from our congregation? This is the last quarter of the year so lets have donuts every Sunday!

Please sign up in the Fellowship Hall or talk to Jayme Bryson about how you can get involved!
Bible on Tap

Bible on Tap meets every Monday, 6:30pm at Aviator Pizza for an hour long bible study, which covers a current event topic that provides countless opportunities for discussion and biblical reference! All are welcome, not just members or people who attend KUMC! No bible needed and no homework/materials to prepare ahead of each meeting.

Come join this wonderful group of non-perfect Christians who get together each week to support each other as they explore, learn, and go deeper into their faith.

The members of the Living the Questions Adult Sunday School class invite you to join in a study of John Wesley and Methodists, the beliefs and actions that started the group of believers called Methodists.

The class will consist of some readings, some presentations, and an extended dialogue about what it means to us today. Travel with us from Epworth, Lincolnshire in 1703 through time attending Oxford, during ordination in the Anglican church, on a trip to the New World in 1735 to preach in Georgia, and onward to return to England, Aldergate Street, and the continued the development of a group of Methodists, in both England and America, as Methodism was born. Live the Questions with us in the faith journey.

We invite you to join us at 10:00 on Sunday mornings in the Wallace Classroom.
Kyle UMW Annual Christmas Party for the Women of the Church

December 14, 2019 at 7:00pm
at the home of Natha Caldwell and Carole Coburn.
333 Silverado Drive, Kyle, TX 78640

If you would like to bring a snack, please bring a small amount of finger food (nothing that requires a fork)

IF participating in the gift exchange then bring a gift not to exceed $5. This is the type of exchange where gifts can be "stolen" twice and is a lot of fun.
KYLE UMW CHRISTMAS PROJECT

This year we have selected the 24 elderly and disabled residents of Kyle Housing Authority. We feel this is a segment of the population which is often overlooked at this time of year.

At the suggestion the housing authority manager we are providing gift bags which include a fleece throw. We are also including microwave popcorn, hot chocolate mix and a small portion of home baked goods.

These bags will be delivered the week before Christmas. If anyone in the congregation would like to donate towards the purchase of these items, it would be greatly appreciated. Any donations may be given to Lynne Kyle, Lynette Barker or Shirley Ellis.
United Methodist Women News

We invite anyone interested in learning more about what we do to in service and to share in God’s love to please come and visit our Circles. We welcome new faces and new ideas. We enjoy working on our ministries and helping support local charities; focusing on women and children’s needs.

DECEMBER CHEER CIRCLE

The Cheer Circle will not formally meet in December but attend and enjoy the annual UMW Christmas party. The next meeting will be held on Monday, January 13 th at 11am in the FLC corner Classroom.

The Cheer Circle meets on the second Monday of each month at the time and location above. We share a monthly devotional, prayers, fellowship, friendship and a light lunch.

If you want to learn more about this wonderful opportunity of faith and service, please call Circle Leader Lynne Kyle at 512-504-3888. We can provide a ride too.
***Please register by Dec 1st to let us know you are attending. Please let us know if money is an issue, we want everyone to attend and have some sponsorships available.

Chaperones! We need you! The more chaperones we have signed up, the less time we each have to stay awake! Please sign up if you're able to help!
Sunday Night Youth Group

Who wants to come hang out with some awesome youth?!? We are in need of adults to help with Youth Group. Can't help every Sunday? That's ok! Help when you're able. We have to have a minimum of 2 adults each Sunday for Safe Gatherings ratio so that gives us an opportunity to have lots of adults impact the lives of the kids in our growing youth group!

Can't help on Sundays? You can support our youth by providing meals and snacks.
If you'd like to volunteer or want more information, please contact Alissa Villarreal at childrenandyouth.kumc@gmail.com or 361-441-4206.
