Message
"The Heavens Declare the Glory of God"
From Pastor Stella:

The annual gathering of the Rio Texas Conference UMC to conduct business and worship together was postponed due to Covid 19. It will take place virtually this Saturday, October 3. Sean Claes will represent the church as a delegate. Marlee Claes and Harper Claes also serve as delegates as part of the conference-wide youth council. Decisions in the UMC are made with equal representation of clergy and lay people.

You can watch the session on Facebook live. For information, follow this link: https://riotexas.org/annual-conference-2020. The conference website also contains information about the church's responses to racism, immigration, and other matters affecting our world.

Pastor Wes Cain and I serve on the worship committee for this event, and Pastor Wes recruited former KUMC Music Director Danton Bankay to provide music. You might want to check the schedule and tune in to one of the worship sessions.

The headline-making divisions in the church will not be a focus of this regional meeting. The global gathering of United Methodists will take place in September 2021 and will include legislation on a possible separation of the church. For now we wait, watch, learn, and most importantly, we worship. This gathering always inspires me and reminds me that we are part of a larger, Spirit-filled group that is doing good things.

Front Porch Worship
Every Sunday at 9am beginning September 6 (in addition to online worship)

Bring a comfortable lawn chair and join us under the shade tree in front of the church on Sundays. Beginning on the first Sunday of September, we will be holding a short, simple worship service each Sunday with prayer, Scripture, and communion.

We will social distance and wear masks for safety. Please note, our regular online service will still be our primary service every Sunday and posted on Facebook and YouTube as usual. Stay home, worship online, and stay safe if you need to – but come be fed on the church lawn if you’re feeling hungry and ready for that.
Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, October 18th, 6-7:45pm

Join us at the Dog Park at Steeplechase Park for a time to celebrate and give thanks for our pets. Stop by and let us give your pet a blessing.
Bring your own coffee and lawn chair and join us for Coffee Under the Tree every other Tuesday at 9:30am.

UMW FALL GENERAL MEETING

To all Sisters In Christ! Please join us for the United Methodist Women (UMW) Fall General Meeting on Thursday, October 15th at 7pm in our FLC. Yes, the City of Kyle has lessened restrictions and the KUMC Trustees have approved that we can meet indoors with COVID protocol. We will sign a COVID waiver, sit in sanitized chairs - well spaced apart and wear masks.

We will be presenting our annual UMW Special Recognition Pin and voting on the 2021 local/global Mission focus. Our Guest Speaker will be Pastor Stella who will share details from the October Rio General Conference as well as roll out her book of Devotionals “Living between Alpha and Omega”.

If you want to learn more about UMW and what we do, it is a wonderful opportunity to hear about our current ministries and enjoy an evening of fellowship and faith. We are happy to come and pick you up if you need a ride. See You There!
