Building affordable homes in
Nez Perce and Asotin Counties since 1991
December 2021
During this season, we find ourselves thankful for the outpouring of support that makes it possible for us to continue our mission. Because of people like you, families are empowered by having a safe place to live and thrive. We wish all of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and Habitat families a joyous holiday season with loved ones. We will continue serving our community by selecting our 35th L-C Valley Habitat homeowner, completing more repairs in our Clarkston Affordable Home Repair program and reenergizing our Brush with Kindness program in 2022.
We look forward to partnering with our community in the New Year! Our wishes for a blessed holiday season,

Dave Clark,
Board Chair
L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity partnered with Avenues for Hope, an Idaho-only fundraiser, for nonprofits and school districts providing housing and support services to low-income or homeless individuals. L-C Valley Habitat seeks to build and provide affordable home repairs in Nez Perce and Asotin Counties.

Avenues for Hope is a great tax-deductible, year-end giving opportunity because you can be certain all funds stay here in the valley we all call home. Plus, when you donate, you can help us reach our goal of an EASY $5000 thanks to additional matching funds available from the Avenues for Hope sponsors! Mark your calendars to donate on the kick-off date, December 9, 2021.

To donate, sign up to be a peer-to-peer fundraiser for this campaign, or learn more, please visit https://www.avenuesforhope.org/organizations/l-c-valley-habitat-for-humanity or call us at 509-758-7396.
Meet the newest additions to our Board of Directors
Paul Carey

Paul grew up the youngest of nine children in Anchorage, Alaska. He earned his pilot's license when he was in high school. He is a member of the Nez Perce County Sherrif's air posse and the experimental air craft association.

He and his lovely wife, Lisa, have 6 children. He has been the shop teacher at Lincoln Middle School for 30 years and values the trades, which is one of the things he loves about Habitat! He also loves our mission of providing safe housing and the fact that volunteers can build homes and relationships at the same time!
Caleb and Rayla Carlyle

Caleb and Rayla are both Clarkston High School graduates. They married in 2014 and lived in Coeur d’Alene for 6 years before deciding to move back home to the LC Valley in 2020. Caleb works for Simplicity Homes as Project Manager building semi customs homes. Rayla is the Service Programing Director at Canyons Church in Clarkston, as well as Hairstylist at Lewiston Transitional Care in the Lewiston Orchards.

In their free time, you will find Caleb and Rayla working on projects at home or spending time with their zoo of pets and foster dogs. Caleb is excited to be joining the Habitat for Humanity Board to volunteer with an organization that is dedicated to providing decent and affordable housing in our area. Rayla is eager to help Habitat in all areas of need and be involved in the community.
Is you home needing some updates or repairs?
Currently, we are in need of someone to help our repairs manager change the old fluorescent lighting tubes to new energy-efficient LED tubes at both our administrative office and the store. If you are comfortable working on a ladder, reaching over head, and can spare a couple of hours, we'd love to talk with you!

On December 14th, we will hold a drawing for all the trees. Come on in and pick your favorite.
