A Message from our Board Chair...
|
|
To say becoming the chair for the board of directors for the L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity is an honor; would be an understatement. I’ve found something that fulfills a part of me that I didn’t know was empty.
I first got involved to swing a hammer after getting a desk job. I missed the work out doors and the physicality. My company volunteered for a day at a Palouse Habitat for Humanity build site, and it hit the nail on the head. We trimmed windows, hung siding, painted, dug holes, and helped wherever we could, but probably got in the way more than anything. Stopped by the local tavern on the way home; it was a good day.
To be perfectly honest, I came by the chair position in a lucky timing sort of event. But am I glad I did receive the luck. It will be hard to follow the previous Chair’s shoes, but I will do my best.
- We have some great things coming for our organization thanks to our excellent Board of Directors and Executive Director, Deb Snyder. She took a fledgling and got it to flight in 1 short year. Below are some of the highlights that we are working on for 2021;
- We placed a deserving family into the 34th home before the end of 2020 and we are so excited for Brittni.
-
Lawn & Garden Loan Shed; based out of the Habitat Store; where people can rent tools for keeping their home up
-
The Clarkston Affordable Home Repair program; came from a community block grant for the city of Clarkston and will help repair homes for those that may not have the ability to do so otherwise
-
Brush with Kindness; a program that helps people paint their homes if they are unable.
2021 is going to be a break-out year for our organization and all I can do is marvel and thank all those that have supported habitat and been an asset in getting us where we are today. Thank you for all donors, volunteers, past and present, staff and board members and ED’s for making L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity a relevant and worthwhile organization.

I'm Jonathan Ryan Broncheau, Sr, 38. I'm the father of 2 boys and a resident and enrolled member of the Nez Perce/Colville/Tulalip Tribes. I enjoy family activities and family gatherings during my free time.
I became an employee at Habitat for Humanity in early 2020. I started out as a volunteer and got hired shortly after. Further into my employment, I began to learn about all of the great things this non- profit organization has done for its community - which has made me gain a great deal of respect for the company. For that, I am proud to be part of this organization.
