Building affordable homes in
Nez Perce and Asotin Counties since 1991
January 2021
In 2021, L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity will celebrates its 30th anniversary.
L-C Valley Habitat has partnered with volunteers, donors and Habitat homeowners to build 34 homes locally since 1991. The lives of more than 80 individuals have been transformed as a result of having a decent and affordable place to call home. However, we will be expanding our services and “rolling out” some exciting new programs in 2021, about which we will share more detail in upcoming newsletters.
LET’S CELEBRATE THE FIRST 30 YEARS

To celebrate our 30th anniversary, join the 30 for 30 challenge. Volunteer 30 hours in 2021 or donate $30 to L-C Valley and get a 30-year Anniversary lapel pin.
The men and women who have volunteered to serve on the L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity board of directors the last 30 years, especially in board leadership, are a key reason for our success. As we say thank you for your service to two board officers and we are excited to introduce you to the 2021 slate of board officers below:
David Clark, Board President
Sunshine Siebert, Board Vice President
Traci Birdsell, Board Secretary
Mike Moscrip, Board Treasurer
With our deepest appreciation...
Jeremy Weeks
Outgoing Board President
Andrew Steiner
Outgoing Board Secretary
The L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity wants to express our gratitude to our outgoing board members, Jeremy Weeks and Andrew Steiner, for their years of service, dedication, and leadership. Without community members like you, organizations like ours couldn't exist. We appreciate your commitment to improving the lives of the people who call the LC Valley home. Thank you!
Welcome our newest staff member...
Julia Frey is our new Marketing & Communications Coordinator. She is a senior at Lewis-Clark State College majoring in Communication Arts. We connected at the school’s welcome fair last September and she soon joined our team as a regular volunteer in our administrative office. As of November, she became part of our staff, and in January she will be a Work Scholar through LC State.
Julia and her husband, Ben, have a combined 5 kids ranging in age from 16 to 25 and 2 delightful grandkids. She grew up in Wenatchee, Washington which is where she chose to raise her kids. Ben is an LC Valley native, so 2 ½ years ago they moved here to be closer to his family. It was that move that prompted Julia to join AmeriCorps, an experience that she says deeply changed her life, her perspective on the world, and furthered her commitment to service work.
Dedication of Curl Home (Habitat Home #34)
We are delighted to announce that Brittni was able to finalize her mortgage paperwork in time to hold our official dedication ceremony on December 31st. She and Brantlee will be making a fresh start, in their new home, as the new year starts.

To help us celebrate the occasion, we invited Pastor Theresa Martin from LifeCenter Church to offer the blessing over Brittni, her son, and their new home. Also in attendance was Habitat Board Member and Qualified Loan Officer Sunshine Siebert, as well as Deb Snyder, L-C Valley HFH Executive Director. Many of Brittni's friends, family, and local community members joined the ceremony virtually via Facebook Live. If you want to read more about Brittni & Brantlee's story, click on their photo.

Once things settled down, Brantlee began to relax and run around the house, playing in the closet and sweeping the floor. Brittni kept saying how excited she is for Brantlee to a yard to play in next spring, and the relief she feels not having to worry about him safety at home anymore.

  • totaling nearly 4,000 hours hours served,
