Great Event: L’Dor V’dor Luncheon –
From Generation to Generation
Sunday, November 24, 11:30 am, AJCC
| |
|
Memories, from the corners of our minds,
may be beautiful;
It’s the laughter we’ll remember..
And the scattered pictures of the smiles
Of joy and purpose
That we gave to one another…
"The Way We Were" repurposed ... apologies to Marvin Hamlisch (melody) and Alan & Marilyn Bergman (lyrics)

Join us at the Alpert JCC to hear stories about the activities that have drawn so many to NCJW over the years. For example, have you heard about our Section's many awards and honors? How we helped get JFCS off the ground? Or, what about our thrift store? Also, the CEO of For the Child, Michele Winterstein, will present an update about the agency’s activities.
This lunch is free of charge. In exchange, even if you can't come, please DONATE as you see fit towards Thanksgiving gift cards for client families of For the Child, one of the few organizations in our area with a focus on abused and neglected children and their families. If you prefer to bring a check with you to the luncheon or mail it to us (our address is at the bottom of this eblast), specifying "For the Child gift card" in the notation line, that's great! All donations are much appreciated! As you know, NCJW's mission is to support the women, children, and families in our community.
Please RSVP on or before November 20 so that we can order your lunch, by clicking below:

Abortion Comfort Kit Packing

Reserve your spot at our last packing of the year, and help pack the next round of Abortion Comfort Kits for Planned Parenthood and Family Planning Associates clinics -- we'll make 400 this time! Help us do a mitzvah (a good deed) for the women having to come from other states to get the health care they need and deserve. We’ll also hear from Planned Parenthood and one of our Section members as part of our Courageous Conversations.
Come enjoy wine, women, social advocacy, and community service! and snacks too! We will once again write and collect notes of encouragement to place in the kits.
Don’t miss it — it will feel so good! The need continues! And it's probably going to get larger! Join us in making a difference!
Please RSVP here or email communityservice@ncjwlongbeach.org by Dec. 8, since a list of attendees must be turned in no later than that date..
