Getting Through Difficult Times

COVID-19 seems to have turned everyone's lives upside down. What we thought would be a normal semester at Texas State changed into something very unexpected. Sometimes we think we know how our lives are going to turn out and when that doesn't happen, we can experience an immense amount of stress. Take this time that we have to connect with ourselves to see that life is ever-changing and that the best way to find peace is to enjoy what you have in the present moment.

Getting Prepared for Finals
Administrative Professionals Day
A Special Day

Administrative Professionals Day was April 22. Many of our student workers who read and contribute to VirtuaLEAPS perform important administrative work such as supporting the University College Front Desk, taking phone calls for advising centers, performing data entry for the grant’s Student Access Database, managing Zoom Rooms for tutoring centers, and helping with staff scheduling and budget reconciliations for the departments where they work.

Though we can’t gather on campus to celebrate you this year, know that you are appreciated and valued. On behalf of faculty and staff across campus, we are so grateful for your work.

End of Year Survey
Dear Reader,

We are trying to determine if VirtuaLEAPS was helpful to you this Spring. We'd also like to determine whether to keep some sort of newsletter content in place as a supplement for in-person professional development opportunities in future semesters. Next week will be our last issue this spring. Please complete the VirtuaLEAPS post-survey prior to May 8. We'd love to have your feedback as we make decisions about how to move forward. You can either follow  this link  or point your phone’s camera at the QR Code below.

We apologize that we weren’t able to bring some interesting speakers to you this spring, and we hope that this attempt to stay connected and provide professional development that is accessible at any time was beneficial to you. We hope that we can safely come together in person again this fall. Best of luck with exams, and have a wonderful summer.

Thanks,

Margaret
