The Learn Foundation will be relocating its Resource Center to a smaller facility, and in preparation, we are working to distribute as many remaining items as possible to the community. To support this effort, we will offer extended hours during two special giveaway weeks this month. The first giveaway week will take place Monday, June 8 through Saturday, June 13, with hours Monday through Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Our second and final giveaway week will be held Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. This will be our last week open until further notice. A variety of free items will be available, including household goods, toothpaste, bar soap, clothing, shoes, and accessories for women, men, and children. 

Join us for a fun and exciting Back-to-School Giveaway and Fundraiser Celebration at Chuck E. Cheese in Douglasville on Friday, June 26, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM! Families are invited to sign up in advance to receive a bag filled with school supplies for each child, along with a free 2-hour game card to enjoy during the event. Supplies and game cards will be distributed upon arrival, so be sure to register by Sunday, June 7, before sign-up closes. In addition to the giveaway, guests can take advantage of special coupons offering great deals on pizza, drinks, and extra fun, including a free 10-game card and more. Best of all, 20% of all purchases made during the event will be donated to support our community outreach programs, helping us continue to make a positive impact. 

Tennessee State University & Meharry Medical College Accelerated MD/DDS Opportunity

Tennessee State University and Meharry Medical College offer an accelerated 7-year MD/DDS program with the potential for a full-ride scholarship—yet there are currently no Black male applicants. This is a powerful opportunity where increased awareness can make a real impact. The program is open to qualified Black male high school seniors who have at least a 3.5 GPA and a 28 ACT score, providing a pathway to earn a medical or dental degree in just seven years. We’re collecting school supplies, hygiene supplies and toys to help children in our community learn, grow, and play. You can drop off donations at 168 N Johnston St, Suite 301 in Downtown Dallas. Items like notebooks, pencils, backpacks, books, toys, and games are all greatly appreciated.
