Michigan APF Chapter Presenting at
Wayne State University School of Medicine
On September 27, the Michigan Chapter of APF made its third presentation to the Jewish Medical Student Association at Wayne State University's School of Medicine, in Detroit. Drs. Basse, Bernstein and Kelman were on hand to make the presentation, which outlined APF's mission and programs. Several students residents, and attending physicians participated. Of special interest to the students was the possibility of clinical rotations in Israel.

APF's 21st Emergency & Disaster Preparedness Course in Israel will take place from November 2 to 7, 2019.

Created in conjunction with Israel's Ministry of Health and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), this one-of-a-kind program offers healthcare professionals firsthand training from some of the world’s foremost experts.

APF's Third Podiatry Scientific Mission in Israel will be held May 3 to 12, 2020.

Join physicians and clinicians from across the U.S. and Canada to participate in this amazing trip, which will include inspiring lectures from Israeli and American speakers. In addition, attendees will visit three medical centers (Tel HaShomer, Rambam and Shaare Zedek), visit Weitzmann Institute, tour Masada, float in the Dead Sea and much more.

APF's Winter Free Medical Birthright Israel Trip
for Healthcare Students
APF is hosting a Birthright Israel trip from December 22, 2019, to January 2, 2020! APF's 10-day Birthright Israel program, organized with Israel Outdoors for medical, nursing and other healthcare students, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the history and culture of Israel and network with Israeli peers. This free enhanced Birthright Israel experience combines all the highlights of an Israel tour with special visits to medical facilities, including the Israeli Defense Forces Medical Corps training base in the Negev .
International Master's Program
on Disaster Management at Tel Aviv University
The International Multidisciplinary Program for Emergency and Disaster Management was established at Tel Aviv University in 2011 with the aim of providing the graduates with the knowledge and skills required to effectively deal with emergencies and disasters and their consequences.

The 10-months program enables students from all over the world to study in Israel, gain knowledge and competencies in emergency preparedness and management, and learn from leading experts as their lecturers and faculty .

The master's program has three major goals :
  1. To impart the academic knowledge and the operational and theoretical analysis skills required when dealing with emergency and disaster situations.
  2. To develop new, innovative and critical ways of thinking when examining intervention plans for dealing with emergency and disaster situations, as well as the ability to transform these plans into action.
  3. To provide the knowledge and hands-on experience to develop the skills needed for dealing with diverse types of emergencies and disasters, using tools and skills for capacity building, management, organization, evaluation, and analysis of such situations.
