A WEEK WITH BIA
BIA FIGHTS TO KEEP CONSTRUCTION MOVING
Dear Member:

COVID-19 continues to change our world, but BIA is here to help you navigate those changes. This week saw a lot of action, including the reopening of Moorpark’s Planning Department services, which we had reported last week were closed. We’re glad to add Moorpark to a host of other cities that had previously shut down, prior to our advocacy, including Santa Paula , Glendale and Manhattan Beach .

But we’re keeping the pressure on, because we know that our industry is under a microscope. As other parts of the country and even the State close construction —or drastically reduce the type of projects allowed to move forward during the pandemic—we are fighting to keep it open. We know how badly our region needs housing. It is essential .

However, we must keep our workforce safe. New enforcements were just put in place this week in the City of LA, and any offenders will have their projects shut down. So we implore our members: practice social distancing and sanitation practices! You can use these simple recommendations here .
