Welcome!

Hello LA-509 BOS, and welcome!

We're so excited to start working with your community. Over the next few weeks, you'll be seeing new things and changes as we get everything up and running. We appreciate your patience during this transition, and please know that our team is here to work with you every step of the way. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. We're here to help.

Key Changes to Expect

Training and the New Support Portal. To use HMIS, you must complete an HMIS training. You can find the link to schedule these new trainings when you get new employees working in HMIS [here].

To help you get assistance faster, we've developed a new Support Portal. Going forward, this will be the best way to get the help you need before emailing or calling anyone individually.

We're also preparing for some important updates to our data standards, which are changing in October 2025. Expect to see new information and a recertification process coming soon to ensure everyone has the latest information.

Data Literacy Training Series As a valuable resource for everyone in the non-profit sector, we encourage you to check out our Data Literacy Training Series. If you're interested in the first session on Non-Profit Impact, be sure to register.

We're looking forward to a great partnership!

Important update regarding the upcoming 2026 HMIS Data Standards. Typically, HUD releases these standards well before the October 1st effective date, giving us time to prepare our system and provide training. However, the final 2026 standards and implementation guidance have not yet been released.

What This Means for You

Submit Reports Early

To avoid complications from future system changes, we strongly encourage you to submit any reports due around October 1st as early as possible. This includes:

  • Annual Performance Reports (APR)
  • Quarterly Performance Reports (QPR)
  • PATH Annual Reports
  • Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Reports
  • VA Repository Reports

Training and Support Timeline

Due to the delay, our ability to offer training or technical support before October 1st will be limited. As soon as the new standards are published, we will begin creating training and support materials. We're committed to making sure our community is well-supported throughout this transition and will share updates as soon as they become available.

Keep an eye out for our new Data Quality Reports coming soon! We're rolling these out to help you stay ahead of the game. Thoroughly reviewing these reports is critical, as it ensures the integrity of our collective data and helps us all maintain the highest standards in our work.
