Los Angeles, April 7, 2022 – The Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation will sponsor the Big Dogs and Meow Meows adoption event happening at our six LA Animal Services Centers on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10. During the Big Dogs and Meow Meows weekend, the adoption fees for dogs more than 40 pounds will be reduced by $50, which does not include the $20 license fee. Adoption fees for cats will be waived by the Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation and adoption fees for kittens will be waived through a generous grant from the ASPCA. “Partnering with the Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation on this weekend’s adoption event comes at a perfect time with our shelters nearing capacity with larger-sized dogs who are especially in need of finding loving homes,” said Annette Ramirez, Interim General Manager for LA Animal Services. “We have many wonderful pets in our Centers who are ready to meet you and be a part of your family.”
“This is an excellent opportunity to save a life and bring home a new companion,” said Bill Crowe, Director of The Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation. “With so many dogs and cats in shelters, our goal during these pet adoption weekends is to encourage people to choose adoption first.''
Dogs and cats adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped.
