LA Animal Services is Desperately Seeking

Fosters and Adopters!

Our shelters are full and need YOU to help dogs find homes!

Pet Month.png

Los Angeles, May 27, 2022 – Our Centers are over capacity as we continue to take in more dogs than we have been able to find these canine friends their new homes. This weekend, as National Pet Month comes to a close, LA Animal Services is offering reduced adoption fees on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29. Adoption fees for all dogs will be $51 (not including license) and $75 for puppies. The adoption fees for cats and kittens will be waived thanks to a generous grant from the ASPCA. Make this Memorial Day one to remember, both for you and a new furry friend, by adopting a pet.

If you are unable to adopt, please consider fostering one of the many wonderful pets from our Centers to give them a temporary break from kennel life. View the pets available for fostering or adoption.

Dogs and cats adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped. In addition, canine companions adopted from LA Animal Services are also eligible for free dog training classes at the Paws for Life K9 Rescue People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA. Contact [email protected] for more details.

Can’t Adopt or Foster - You Can Still Help

  • If you have lost a dog, please click here to see if your pet is in one of our Centers. If your pet is at one of our locations, no appointment is needed to reclaim and be reunited with your lost pet.
  • If you have surrendered your dog to LA Animal Services, they are still here, and you are in a place to take them back. Please come reclaim them.

If you find a healthy, friendly loose dog, please look for its home by walking your neighborhood, posting flyers, or using social media by posting and description on LA City Lost and Found Pets, Nextdoor.com, Pawboost.com, or uploading the pet’s photo on PetcoLoveLost, a searchable national database that uses facial recognition technology. According to the ASPCA about half of missing dogs are found by searching their local neighborhoods.
