“As we see COVID-related cases back on the rise, I am pleased that we will be able to offer the vaccine at three of our Animal Services Center locations while also providing an incentive for animal lovers to adopt and bring home a new furry family member,” said Dana Brown, General Manager for LA Animal Services.
Interested adopters who are fully vaccinated and have received their two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, and present proof of their COVID-19 vaccination (digital or card), will be eligible to adopt a dog or puppy at no cost, which does not include the $20 license fee, at any of our six LA Animal Services Centers.
Adopters who have received their first, or are getting their first dose of the vaccine on August 21, are eligible to receive 50 percent off their canine adoption fee (not including $20 license fee). The adoption fees for cats and kittens will be waived thanks to a generous grant from the ASPCA.
New Weekend Operating Hours
Starting Saturday, August 21, all six LA Animal Services locations will begin operating without appointments on weekends, from 11am to 5pm. We will continue to operate by appointment during the week, Tuesdays through Fridays, for pet adoptions, fostering, and owner surrender, with Centers closed on Mondays. Sick or injured animals will be admitted without an appointment. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 1-888-452-7381.
