Dear Benjamin,
It has been a remarkable beginning of 2025! From our Proudly Pro-life Galas and five Life Marches, to over 1,000 Louisiana students attending the national March for Life in Washington D.C., our team has been energetically defending life.
In addition to our activities, last week a West Baton Rouge Grand Jury indicted a New York abortion physician and an alleged abuser for coercing a young girl in Louisiana into the abortion decision against her will.
Our heart breaks for this courageous young girl and her unborn baby who appeared to have every intent of raising her baby. She even had a gender reveal party planned. What an injustice that the New York based abortion physician did not care that the pills she was prescribing would be utilized to harm a minor and then end the life of her unborn baby against her will.
The case has already picked up national coverage with the Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, announcing that she will refuse Louisiana's extradition request of the abortion physician. We are so thankful that Governor Landry and Attorney General Murrill reminded Governor Hochul on X that we will hold individuals accountable for breaking the law! Gov. Hochul should be ashamed of herself for aiding and abetting those doctors who harm minors and kill unborn babies.
Here are a few other highlights from January:
-
Louisiana Right to Life team members held a Congressional Reception for students to hear from Speaker Mike Johnson, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Senator Bill Cassidy, and Rep. Clay Higgins.
-
We arrange for 400 students to visit with Gov. Landry ahead of the March for Life (photo above).
- I joined Speaker Johnson and Gov. Landry backstage at the March for Life.
- Our Communications Director Sarah Zagorski participated in a Congressional briefing on the Born Alive Infant Protection Act and visited with Speaker Johnson.
- 600 students attended our Geaux Forth Rally in D.C. to and were inspired by pro-life speakers.
Let's continue to march for life EVERYDAY and declare that every life is worth living!
