On an Elm Tree Shaded Hillside...
Dear Alumni & Friends,
Each year, LA celebrates
; a significant event on the school's calendar, which Head of School Dan Scheibe once described as a moment when we recognize "that simple sense of giving, of giving to others, of a commitment that goes beyond yourself...”
More than a birthday or anniversary celebration for the school, Founders’ Day — even when it marks LA's 225th year — celebrates community, the school's motto, and those who allow LA's "light to shine for all."
This year, a packed Richardson-Mees Performance Center (RMPAC) audience gathered to recognize and thank members of the community for their service to LA and the world beyond our campus:
- Greater Good Award recipient, Kaylee Ann Kendall Beagan '18
- Kathy Peabody Memorial Book Award recipients Jimmy Howard and Dan Knox of Buildings & Grounds
- Award for 25 Years of Service honoree Brian Feigenbaum
- Founders’ Day Award honoree Lucy Crocker Abisalih ’76
We at LA remain humbled by and grateful for our honorees’ accomplishments, representative as they are of the extraordinary good done around the world by Lawrencians near and far.
As always, the quad “echoes” with the truths of our favorite tune:
From the many who have loved it and upheld it gloriously
echoes down the hills this watch-word
"Lawrence, Lawrence, here's to thee!"
Here's to Lawrence Academy.
From the Hillside,
