Utah Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) Code Technical Assistance - November 30

Free technical assistance for Utah cities, counties and regional councils of governments adopting the wildland-urban interface code required by HB 48. Over six months, up to 25 selected communities work with the CPAW team on adoption guidance, rewriting existing code to comply, wildfire risk maps, public engagement and communications, enforcement, intergovernmental agreements, and working with elected officials. Preference goes to communities with minimal or no existing WUI or building codes. Expect about two hours of meetings a month — one cohort workshop and one individual session — from January through June 2027. This program covers community-wide code adoption; it is not intended to help communities manage the state’s High Risk Wildland Urban Interface fee assessment program. The application is due via this Google Form by November 30th.
