President's Message
Early Season's Greetings!

I know I am not just speaking for myself when I say it's been busy!

Each year as 4th Quarter descends upon us, I am thankful that I am busy serving clients and tending to the business I earn my livelihood from. Don't get me wrong--I'm stressed and frantic, just as so many of us in this industry are!

Take a deep breath and carry on!

I hope you will join us on December 19, 2017 at the LAAHU Holiday Party to gather and enjoy the company of those we serve with AND host a toy drive for children in need. We are gathering toys for Toys For Tots and Camp Ronald McDonald at Chablis Food + Wine in Tarzana.

Your donation of a toy (or $15) will go towards children in need and give you a couple of drinks, delicious appetizers, and perhaps a door prize!

Please join us as we say thank you and give to those less fortunate.

Happy Holidays,

Bobbi Kaelin
LAAHU President

If you would like some help in your agency, with potential for a long term hire, AND you want to help mentor the next generation let us know ASAP.

Licensed Insurance Agents are the unsung heros of the ACA
By Michael Lujan Chief Strategy officer/ Co-Founder Limelight Health
The 2018 open enrollment season started on November 1st with considerably less fanfare than previous years. There is still much work to do and an estimated 28 million people who still lack health insurance.

The uninsured rate in America was reduced considerably over the past five years. Since the implementation of the Affordable Care Act,  the uninsured rate went from 18.2% to as low as 8.8% nationally .

California had the most dramatic reduction, from
17.2% to 7.1%, with a huge contribution and efforts of the estimated 30,000 licensed insurance agents who actively serve the individual and small group market. So why don't agents get more credit?
