*SPECIAL UPDATE* The playwright will do a Talk Back with the audience after the performance on Saturday at 2PM!

Funded through a special project grant as part of her 2014 National Artist Teacher Fellowship (NATF), Susie Tanner's production of "A Patch of Earth" by Kitty Felde will have 3 performances in Caroline's LOFT on January 30 & 31.

The play is based on the experiences of Drazen Erdemovic, a young Bosnian Croat who was forced to participate in the Bosnian Serb army massacre of Muslim men and boys at Srebrenica in 1995. Unable to overcome his guilt, he confessed to the international war crimes tribunal in the Hague, and was tired and sentenced for his participation in what many have called the worst genocide since the Holocaust.

The uniqueness of the project, which includes professional actors Waleed Zuaiter and Liesel Euler in the cast, elevated the student actors' learning experience. The integrated curriculum aspect of the rehearsal process included all actors learning about the historical subject matter in a deep way as they created their characters and rehearsed the play.
