California entered into its third year of drought and we are urging all customers to step up their conservation efforts, following results of the final snow survey for the season that showed a dramatic decline in water content. On April 1, the snowpack was 41% of normal, however, less than two weeks later—on April 12—readings showed the snowpack had melted to 22% of normal, the equivalent of 4.9 inches of water content.
As the climate crisis becomes more serious, each Earth Day takes on extra significance. And every action we take, whether to save water or save energy, makes a difference. Little by little, it adds up to a lot. Simple lifestyle changes, like shorter showers, going paperless, and installing energy-efficient appliances, can make all the difference.

LADWP and City Officials Break Ground on New Park in South Los Angeles |
Ninth District Councilmember Curren D. Price, Jr., President of the Los Angeles Board of Water and Power Commissioners Cynthia McClain-Hill, Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) General Manager Mike Schull, and members of the community joined together to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Senator Bill Greene Memorial Park, on the corner of Figueroa Street and Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles. The approximately 20,000 square-foot vacant lot, formerly the site of LADWP's Figueroa Pump Station, will be transformed to provide new recreational opportunities for youth and families. |

Earlier this year, $275 million in state funds were automatically credited to nearly 280,000 LADWP customer accounts. As part of our continued efforts to help customers experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic, we have expanded our pay plans to help you pay existing bill balances and future bills.

Essential Work Continues
Our crews installed a new regulator station with an associated relief station underground to support the Coronado Trunk Line. The station is required to reduce the hydraulic grade between two pressures zones, allowing regulator and relief valves to control the flow of water from the Toyon tanks service zone to the Solano Reservoir service area to serve the southeast side of the city.
