NEW: Get Texts When the Power Goes Out in Your Neighborhood
On July 2, 2019, LADWP introduced a new notification system to keep customers informed of power outages. The power outage notification system will allow LADWP customers to receive text or emails when a power outage is reported in your neighborhood. In addition to alerts about a power outage, residents will also be notified about estimated times for repairs and service restoration. You have the option to choose between English and Spanish alerts, and anyone can enroll in up to three neighborhoods within LADWP’s service area. To sign up for the new text and email alerts visit ladwp.com and click on "Power Outages" and then "Subscribe to Outage Alerts.”

Save Energy with Cool Roofs
It’s getting hot and you might be feeling it in your wallet as well. You can create a much cooler environment inside your home or commercial building and lower your air conditioning costs by taking advantage of our Cool Roofs rebate. Cool roofs can reflect up to 88% of the sun’s rays with specialized reflective coating or shingles that come in a variety of colors, allowing you to save on energy costs while mitigating the urban heat island effect. Right now, LADWP is offering a rebate of $0.20 to $0.30 per square foot on qualifying projects as part of the Consumer Rebate Program.

Project Spotlight: Venice Blvd. Earthquake Resistant Pipe Replacement
LADWP has begun important work to safeguard the water lines servicing critical facilities, including a hospital, on Venice Boulevard near Fairfax Ave. Our crews are replacing approximately 3,500 feet of existing 6-inch water mainline first installed in 1945 with 8-inch modern earthquake resistant ductile iron pipe (ERDIP) .

This type of innovative pipe, first introduced in Japan, is segmented like a chain allowing it to bend to bend with seismic forces without severing. The project will improve water quality and flow capacity as well as flexibility and reliability to this hospital, critical to recovery from a major earthquake or disaster.

For more information about the project, call (213) 367-1381.
