Beat the Heat & Stay Safe

Summer is upon us and with rising temperatures, we are continuing to ensure you have the tools and resources you need to beat the heat and stay safe. A motion was recently approved by the Los Angeles Board of Water and Power Commissioners directing LADWP to suspend collections-related water and power shutoffs for all customers during extreme heat and cold weather events. Under this new policy, when the National Weather Service (NWS) issues an extreme heat or cold weather advisory or warning, we will not shut a customer’s water or power off if they are delinquent on their bill.

In addition to this new policy, we continue our Cool LA offerings, which include increased rebates on various types of cooling units and a monthly billing payment option.

2022 Drinking Water Quality Report

In 2022, LADWP supplied an average of 436 million gallons of water per day to over 4 million customers. The same year, we carried out a comprehensive testing program throughout the City’s water system and our water sources by collecting more than 26,000 samples and conducting over 107,000 tests.

The city’s water met and surpassed federal and state drinking water standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) and the State of California, Water Resources Control Board – Division of Drinking Water (SWRCB-DDW).

To learn more about how LADWP is carrying out its core mission through new and innovative ways, check out the full 2022 Drinking Water Quality Report, which summarizes the results of the water quality tests and provides specific information about the quality of water served throughout our various communities.
