On July 10, we celebrated Lineworker Appreciation Day and took time to honor the dedicated lineworkers who help bring power to Los Angeles and the Owens Valley. From climbing poles in the toughest conditions to working long hours, they embody a proud legacy. Linework often spans generations, with skills, stories, passion, and a deep sense of purpose passed down from those who came before. Beat the Heat and Stay Cool

LADWP’s Cool LA initiative is helping income-qualified customers beat the heat and stay cool by offering up to $275 rebates on new, energy-efficient air conditioners. This year’s increased rebates will continue to help LADWP customers lower indoor temperatures to a safer level during extreme heat conditions. For more information on rebate eligibility and how to shop for qualifying air conditioners, please visit LADWP’s Cool LA Marketplace.

As temperatures continue to rise this summer, it’s important to stay safe and hydrated. LADWP is committed to providing not only reliable service but also support and resources to help customers prioritize health and safety. If there are financial concerns about running the air conditioner, contact us to sign up for LADWP’s financial assistance programs such as EZ-SAVE, an electric bill discount for income-qualified customers. To add, residential customers can enroll in Level Pay for a set predictable monthly bill to help with budgeting.

The report highlights our employees’ ethics and commitment to data integrity as they ensure the highest possible drinking water quality for the City of Los Angeles. That’s why L.A. enjoys some of the highest quality drinking water in the nation.

HEROES for Zero Contest: Advancing L.A.’s Energy & Education

Woodland Hills Humanities Magnet Energy HEROES received 25k for their efforts to teach students about energy conservation and efficiency practices.

LADWP partnered with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to provide over $100,000 towards their HEROES for Zero Contest, an initiative promoting energy conservation and education among Los Angeles youth. As part of the contest, LAUSD challenged students to find ways to save energy and boost energy efficiency, which resulted in constructing model solar panel shades for outdoor playgrounds to developing brochures that advocate for energy conservation practices and hosting school-wide sustainability weeks—advancing sustainability efforts and a clean energy future.
